A Mediator/CCRC meets with clients in an effort to reduce conflict and help them reach a resolution for a Custody Order that is in the best interest of their child/ren. When and if parties are unable to reach an agreement, they are responsible for preparing a written report and recommendation. The CCRC position is a part of the Family Court Services team, which is made up of Mediators/CCRCs and Court Investigators, and is supervised by the Family Court Services Manager. The Court is looking for a candidate with a history of working with families in crisis, with either a therapeutic or social work background. Candidates must possess report writing skills and be able to work in a fast paced environment and maintain hard deadlines.
Candidates will be subject to a pre-employment drug screening and a background and reference check, including fingerprinting for criminal convictions through the DOJ and the FBI. All offers of employment are contingent upon submission of documents verifying identity and authorization to work in the United States using E-Verify.
A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, social work, marriage, family and child counseling or other behavioral science substantially related to marriage and family interpersonal relationships.
At least two years of experience in social work, counseling / psychotherapy, or both, preferably in a setting related to the areas of responsibility of the family conciliation court and with the population to be served. Additional work experience may be evaluated for substitution purposes for the required education.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
May be required to possess, or obtain by appointment date, a valid California Class C Driver’s license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles.
A 10% salary differential is paid for an employee who possesses one of the following licenses:
• Marriage and Family Therapist
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker
$57,761 to $70,220 per year.
