The PMHNP works to diagnose and treat patients with behavioral health and substance use disorders, to determine the nature and extent of disorders, and to formulate treatment programs utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications. The PMHNP provides clinical consultation to social workers and non-medical staff. Person-centered, culturally competent care is provided by the PMHNP with a focus on outcomes.
*Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in an Article 31/32 outpatient setting while maintaining an appropriate and timely electronic health record for each patient seen in accordance with the clinic policies and procedures and under the supervision on a psychiatrist, including concurrent documentation of session notes
*Prescribe medications, including injectables, through e-prescribing software while managing and monitoring dose changes and side effects in order to ensure the safety and tolerability of prescribed medications
*Maintain an appropriate and timely electronic health record for each patient seen in accordance with clinic policies and procedures, including concurrent documentation of session notes and assessments
*Assist in development of organizational, departmental, and clinic policies, procedures and objectives, as requested and participate in organizational development activities including departmental meetings, clinic meetings, quality and performance initiatives, and functions as requested
