The Bridge, an innovative and well respected mental health agency serving adults with serious mental illness, substance abuse, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and co-morbid medical conditions is seeking a Program Director to join its Residential Services Department.

Scope of Position:
Hiring, supervising and training the professional, para-professional and residential support staff; developing an environment that recognizes the effects of trauma on behavior; able to motivate staff to use CPI and verbal de-escalation skills to manage crises; ensuring that services are client determined and driven while meeting funder requirements for successful discharge; oversees the development and execution of on-site programming; be prepared for successful OMH and LITC audits and reviews; complete monthly data collection to monitor services and trends in census, attendance, and funder outcomes; responsible for all required reporting; reviewing all HRA 2010-e housing applications and conducting interviews with prospective residents to determine eligibility; coordinating with discharge planning staff at State Psychiatric Centers, Residential Treatment Facilities, and NYC shelters/safe havens/outreach teams schedule interviews for patients/residents who have been deemed eligible for the Tilden Gardens program; conducting clinical interviews with eligible applicants to assess their capacity to live successfully in the level of housing program for which they’re applying; maintaining good relationships with neighbors, and local community organizations and leaders.

Masters of Social Work, Masters in Mental Health Counseling or Master’s in related field; at least 3 years supervisory experience in a residential setting; clinical experience with mentally ill adults; clinical experience with young adults preferred ; bilingual (Spanish) desirable
