Day Behavioral Health Assistant Professional
The Arc of Union County, Inc. is a non-profit, 501c (3) organization headquartered in Springfield, NJ, dedicated to the lives of individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc serves more than 1,000 adults and children each month from the 21 towns in Union County, as well as the greater Northern and Central NJ counties. The Arc of Union County is seeking a Day Behavioral Health Assistant Professional provides education and training to acquire the skills and experience needed to participate in the community, consistent with the participant’s Service Plan. This includes activities supporting participants with building problem-solving skills, self-help, social skills, adaptive skills, daily living skills, and leisure skills. Activities and environments are designed to foster the acquisition of skills, building positive social behavior and interpersonal competence, greater independence and personal choice. Day Behavioral Health Assistant Professional engages service recipients in small or large group outings to the community, leisure, educational activities and community experiences. The Day Behavioral Health Assistant Professional assists in implementation of approved behavioral strategies/plans, education, skill development, training service recipients as indicated, nurturing social skills, data collection, and direct support.
Qualifications: Willing to learn or some familiarity, knowledge or experience in Behavioral Day Habilitation and/or Social Supports Services for Individuals with developmental disabilities. EOE.
