Description
The Crime Victims Law Project Attorney(CVLP), who will be an employee of Victim Services Center of Montgomery County, Inc. provides onsite civil legal services to eligible victims of sexual assault, sexual harassment, and other violent crimes.

II.        SPECIFIC DUTIES
A.        Assisting and representing clients in:
1.        Protection from abuse orders
2.        Sexual violence and intimidation orders
3.        Landlord tenant matters
4.        Immigration matters
i.        U-Visa
ii.        T-Visa
iii.        VAWA self- petition
5.        Child custody
6.        Child support
7.        Simple divorce
8.        Title IX matters
9.        School issues
10.Work related issues

III. QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant must have a current license to practice law in PA, and 3-5 years of legal experience. The applicant must have skills to work with clients who have experienced trauma and maybe in crisis. Possess the capacity to make sound legal judgment, be confident in decision making, value diversity and be culturally responsive, maintain an open mind and flexibility to learning, work collaboratively with agency staff such as advocates and counselors. Demonstrated good writing skills is required.
Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus. Child abuse history and FBI clearance background checks required, Valid driver’s license, vehicle and valid automobile insurance required. EOE

EVALUATION

The Crime Victims Law Project Attorney job performance is evaluated annually, after the introductory period, by the Director of the Crime Victims Law Project and/or an assigned legal attorney supervisor. Administrative and Human Resources matters will be evaluated and addressed by Executive Director at Victim Services Center.
