Job Summary: The Director of Youth Services provides comprehensive oversight for residential services for homeless youth, youth centers for community-based participants, and services for youth involved in the juvenile justice. These programs are based in Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx.
Provides ongoing supervision and support to Program Coordinators, Program Directors, and Program Managers who directly oversee the Youth Programs.
Sets goals with visible benchmarks as a standard for each program so that each may improve programmatic outcomes.
Provides clinical supervision to management to ensure that each youth receives quality-driven counseling and/or mental health services.
Develops additional project-based initiatives for each program to enhance the services provided to youth.
Networks in the communities of Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx to build sound and amenable relationships with community leaders and organizations.
Ensures that each program remains compliant according to the standards of the funder including but not limited to: DYCD, HUD, DOP.
Assists program staff to develop methods of data collection and related tools to capture the progress towards desired outcomes.
Works closely with Human Resources, Quality Improvement, Development, and Finance in order to provide administrative support to the youth programs.
Other related responsibilities as needed.
Master’s in Social Work or Related Field Required
LMSW, LCSW, LCAT, LMHC Preferred
At least five years of direct management experience in Youth Services field
Excellent organizational skills; Strong communication skills
Ability to work with a diverse group of people and synthesize varying perspectives.
Computer and data savvy
Must have the ability to engage positively with the youth.
