We have wonderful opportunities for RELIEF Residential Counselors. The RELIEF Residential Counselor pool provides coverage for swing and overnight shift openings in Bill Wilson Center’s Interim Housing, Homeless Respite and Young Adult Shelter programs (all located in/near downtown San Jose). The RELIEF Residential Counselor is not a full time position, but provides relief/coverage for open shifts – hours, if any, are based on availability of open shifts. Swing shift and awake overnight work is required and looking for candidates available between 5 p.m. and 9 a.m.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   
•        Provides care and services for youth in the program and serves as an appropriate role model for youth
•        Completes required documentation and data entry in a timely and accurate manner
•        Ensure safety of youth and staff in program
•        Must be able to communicate effectively, get along with coworkers, clients and management and deal effectively and professionally under pressure
•        Attend agency meetings as required
•        Ensure that program site is clean and orderly and report all maintenance or safety issues to manager following agency protocol
•        Regular attendance and punctuality is a requirement of the position.
•        Participate in agency Program Quality Improvement activities and initiatives
•        Participate in agency Safety initiatives and proactively report safety issues to management immediately
•        Other duties as may be assigned.

Skills
High School diploma or equivalent, BA preferred. Experience working with culturally diverse youth required. Valid CA drivers license with access to a personal vehicle with current Ins. Fingerprinting, TB test & CPR/First Aid required.
