Job Description
The Clinician II is primarily responsible for oversight and coordination of clinical services offered to assigned clients, including the provision of individual, group and family therapy. The Clinician II also provides training on clinical issues to other staff as necessary.
Job Duties / Essential Functions
1.Within assigned Program site, provide clinical services and individual, group and family therapy using appropriate approaches, techniques and interventions
•        Participate in treatment planning, discharge and aftercare planning.
•        Complete timely, effective and accurate documentation including, but not limited to biopsychosocial and safety assessments, QA, chart review and utilization review.
•        Make sound clinical decisions and judgments while advocating for client needs.
5.Maintain regular communication with internal and external customers and provide psychoeducation as necessary to appropriate customers.
6.Co-manage the therapeutic environment by working with treatment team members to ensure the coordinated treatment and care of clients; Recommend program and treatment strategies and consult on client issues. Facilitate meetings and mentor co-workers on clinical care and treatment issues.
7.Develop program and treatment strategies; develop and evaluate programs and services to maintain progressive and effective treatment.
8.Involvement in at least one center wide committee or work group and with a minimum of four different referral/funding sources.
•        If licensed, authorize restraints as needed.
10.Assist in the performance and/or observation of restraints as necessary when ordered by a licensed professional using the current approved KidsPeace restraint methodology on youth who may weigh in excess of 250 pounds and who are physically threatening or otherwise presenting a threat to themselves or others.
11.Maintain awareness of the KidsPeace continuum of services and actively promote the internal transfer and referral of children and families whenever clinically indicated by attending bi-annual training on the continuum and communicating with associates between levels of care and actively seeking opportunities to share information about the continuum with consumers as evidenced by written documentation in the client record.
•        Perform all program or state specific job duties as assigned
•        Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services or related field.
•        REQUIRED: Professional licensure (LAPC,LPC,LAMFT,LMFT,LMSW,LCSW)
•        Experience working with adolescents and their families in a mental and/or behavioral health setting preferred, particularly with major psychiatric diagnoses.
•        Prior experience providing individual, group, and family therapy.
•        Must possess moderate computer knowledge and skills.
•        Working knowledge and understanding of specific therapeutic model - CBT, DBT
•        Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
