Mental Health Consultant

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
-To identify, assess, support and refer parents registered and attending all parenting classes who may be struggling with mental health issues.
-Provide parents with individual support, identify issues and resources, coordinate referral, create /refer to existing group or services.
-Receive referrals from staff regarding specific parent struggles in class, ACS involvement.
-Supervise 2-4 social work students each school year to provide Field Supervision
-Attend classes where parents are to introduce attention and awareness of mental health.
-Meet with parents individually and/ or in groups to provide support:
*COS graduate group
-Identify barriers to parents receiving mental health services: insurance, referral, co-pay, language.
-Connect parents to services when possible.
-Record all actions per parent.
-Submit monthly report detailing roster:
*Status: not engages, attending group, attending outside assistance
*Barriers: to treatment
-Licensure in a clinical field LMSW or LCSW, LMHC, Psychologist or Metal Health Counselor.
-Trained as a Circle of Security Parent Coach is a +
-Minimum of 5 years clinical experience working with children and families.
-Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
-Ability to identify and organize parents referred for additional support from approximately 600 registered parents across two or more boroughs.
-Proven verbal and written communication skills, be organized, manage time commitments.
-Circle of Security Certificate.
