In partnership with NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island our teams accommodate more than 250,000 outpatient visits, more than 89,000 emergency room visits, and with 371 beds, more than 15,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center and New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in order to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.
The Chief Psychologist will serve as the principal advisor and supervisor to all Behavioral Health psychologists and psychology students. This is a Clinical/Administrative position. They will be responsible for planning, development and organization of the Division of Psychology. The incumbent will also provide direct care services including assessments, psychological testing and treatment in appropriate modalities. The candidate will have outstanding skills and ability in planning, organizing and implementing treatment programs in group therapy and in various individual therapies such as CBT, DBT and motivational interviewing. Reports to the Chairman of BH and to the appropriate Division Director for all direct care provided to children, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients within the department.
• Doctoral degree in clinical psychology or counseling psychology, from a graduate program in psychiatry accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) or its equivalent
• NYS License
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in mental health
