About the Agency:
Since 1972, 1736 Family Crisis Center a private non-profit multi-service center has been responding to the growing needs of victims of domestic violence, runaway and homeless youth, homeless families, unemployed adults and youth, homeless veterans and their families and other low income community members in need of assistance.
We are seeking a full-time DART Advocate (Domestic Abuse Response Team). The DART Advocate will provide crisis intervention and response for domestic violence victims along with Los Angeles Police Department DART detectives. Services are provided during domestic violence peak hours which are; 3:00pm to 1:00am, Thursday through Sunday.Follow up services are also provided to victims during these hours.
The DART Advocate will create and provide advocacy, safety planning, referrals and information, along with, providing follow-up case management services to DV victims including; linking ctients to shelters services, other housing options, mental health, employment services and in-home aftercare services as needed. The Dart Advocate will directly assist victims in crisis at the scene. This position requires extensive service coordination with the Los Angeles Police Department, intra-agency programs and the community, and will conduct DV training for LAP(officers,community members and other agencies).
Will compile and maintain confidential client case files, and will be responsible for monthly status updates and progress reports that must be submitted to the Mayors office. Responsibilities will also include a team of volunteers that will assist with both peak hour responses and off-peak work at the police station.
