Position Summary: The Social Work Supervisor reports to the Director of Youth Empowerment Programs. The Supervisor leads the social work services and program implementation in collaboration with Employment and Education Services to implement a cohesive program service model for youth. The Supervisor will support Next Generation Center (NGC) youth coaches, case managers and social workers to help youth set and achieve individual goals and objectives. By working with all NGC management team and staff, the supervisor creates a comprehensive model of assessment, goal planning and continuous evaluation to ensure youth achieve individual goals and objectives as they move towards independence.
•Supervision of all social work, coaching and case management staff
•Provide supervision and support to social work team to ensure they are working effectively with youth in achievement of their goals as defined by their individual service plans
•Serve as part of the management team providing supervision of center activities as needed.
•Develop and maintain service plan systems and processes to help staff work with youth in developing and progressing through their individual service plans
•Implement youth intake process to effectively assess youth to determine development of appropriate case plans and service provision
•Track and monitor and report the change and achievement of goals through plans in program database
•Implement an program evaluation process to support the continuous improvement and program adherence goals of the program
•Develop reports and outcomes for government and private contracts that support the social work services of NGC
•Develop groups and pro- social activities, trips, and appropriate support groups
•Create systems to increase parental engagement, support families and support groups
•Work with administrative staff to create monthly activities calendar
•Collaborate with Children’s Aids Foster Care and other Children’s Aids youth services programs to develop strategies to engage youth in programming at NGC
•Share information about progress and activities of center
•Collaborate with other CAS divisions to bring resources to NGC
•Other projects and duties as assigned.
•Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field required. Must have a professional license.
•Demonstrated commitment to a youth-centered approach to working with system-involved youth
•1+ years supervisory and leadership experience
•2+ years’ experience working with difficult-to-engage adolescents
•Capacity for creative problem-solving, conflict resolution, violence prevention
•Ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team
•Knowledge of city, state and federal juvenile justice and foster care systems, policies and issues
•Effective interpersonal oral, written and verbal communication skills
•Training and experience in Motivational Interviewing and/or Restorative Practices a plus
•Results oriented with a drive for continuous program evaluation and improvement
