Adapt of Missouri is a Community Mental Health Center serving the needs of clients in Saint Louis City and Saint Louis County. Adapt provides holistic, person centered care for low-income adults living with severe and persistent mental illness.
A two year degree with at least two years of experience in psychiatric, substance abuse treatment or developmental disabilities and no degree with combined 4 years of experience working with individuals with serious mental illness is acceptable.
The Community Support Specialist is responsible for assisting clients with severe and persistent mental illness to live successfully and to their satisfaction in the community.
The CSS is responsible for providing case management services including 1:1 work with clients in the community and in their homes. The CSS assists the client to access community services to live independently and reach their goals, including financial assistance, housing, ongoing social supports, and vocational resources. Essential job responsibilities include assessing and monitoring a client's adjustment to community living, assessing clients' level of risks, strengths, and weaknesses, participating in the development of individualized treatment plans, and providing individual assistance to clients in accessing needed mental health. This position requires transporting client in personal automobile. Must have an automobile and obtain a valid Missouri Class E driver's license. A clean driving record and current automobile insurance is also required (no major incidents).
