Description
AFLH is seeking dependable, emotionally mature Youth Residential Treatment Specialists to support adolescents in a licensed residential behavioral health setting in Columbus, Ohio.

This is not a traditional home health, senior care, babysitting, or primarily ADL-focused role. Staff provide continuous supervision, structure, behavioral support, crisis prevention, documentation, transportation, and daily programming for adolescents who may display challenging behaviors.

Employment Options and Schedule
• Full-time, part-time, and PRN positions
• Day shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekends and holidays are required when scheduled

Primary Responsibilities
• Maintain continuous supervision in a structured adolescent residential setting
• Enforce professional boundaries and established house expectations
• Use trauma-informed approaches and approved crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques
• Respond safely to verbal aggression, physical aggression, elopement risks, property destruction, self-harm concerns, and other challenging behaviors
• Support treatment goals, education, recreation, daily routines, and independent-living skills
• Complete accurate shift notes, behavioral documentation, incident reports, and medication-related documentation
• Transport adolescents to school, appointments, family visits, and approved activities
• Communicate behavioral, medical, and safety information during shift changes
• Work with supervisors, clinicians, case managers, nurses, and other treatment-team members
• Follow confidentiality, safety, mandated-reporting, and all AFLH policies

Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable transportation and current automobile insurance
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays when scheduled
• Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
• Ability to complete in-house TB testing
• Ability to remain calm and professional during behavioral crises
• Ability to complete accurate electronic documentation

Strongly Preferred Experience
• Adolescent residential treatment
• Youth group homes
• Behavioral health or juvenile justice
• Children’s services or crisis stabilization
• Therapeutic foster care
• Schools serving youth with behavioral needs
• Trauma-informed care and behavioral crisis de-escalation

Traditional home health, senior care, or ADL-only experience will not be considered equivalent to adolescent residential or behavioral-support experience.

Pay: $15.00 to $20.00 per hour
