WE ARE HIRING! Join our team and become our new full-time SCHOOL-BASED SOCIAL WORKER in the Department of Family Services. This position, resulting from a collaboration between the Village of Niles and District 63, provides school-based therapeutic and behavioral health support to students from Village of Niles schools, promoting mental wellness among children and adolescents in the community.


Some info about the position…
• Provides therapeutic services at District 63 schools, including psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, individual, family, and group therapy.
• Creates supportive services, including assessment, prevention, early intervention, and restorative interventions beyond the scope of a traditional school social work role.
• Facilitates and supports non-academic groups, programs, and clubs for students identified by school personnel.
• Provides case management services, resource referral, crisis response, and leadership in crisis situations, including collaboration with Fire and Police departments.
• Communicates and collaborates with school-based staff, families, and community stakeholders to identify the nature, scope, and type of services needed.
• Completes and maintains accurate client records and documentation; stays current with best practices and evidence-based models in mental health.
• Demonstrates cultural sensitivity in all client, stakeholder, and employee interactions and provides professional development training as needed.
• and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates should…
• Hold a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
• Advanced clinical license in the state of Illinois (LCSW, LCPC) preferred.
• Have two (2) years of experience providing mental health counseling to children, adolescents, and families.
• Bilingual (Spanish and/or Polish) strongly preferred.
• Strong diagnostic skills and familiarity with the DSM-5.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, confidentiality protocols, and ethical standards as determined by the licensing Code of Ethics.
• Proficiency in the implementation of an electronic health record (EHR).
• Ability to establish positive, trusting rapport with clients
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possess a valid Illinois driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

Pay, benefits, and more…
• Salary range is $84,373.00 – $118,121.00 per year (starting salary is typically no higher than the midpoint and is dependent on qualifications).
• Typical hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some evenings and weekends as needed.
