ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Community Coach, you'll play a pivotal role in guiding individuals with developmental and physical disabilities. You will be out in the community, fostering independence and skill-building, aligned with each participant's person-centered plan. This role is not just a job; it's an opportunity to make a real difference, promoting inclusion, volunteerism, and relationship-building in community settings.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

* Coach and guide individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, focusing on skills for successful community integration.
* Build positive, supportive relationships and encourage participants' active engagement in all activities.
* Foster respectful interactions with community members, advocating for age-appropriate treatment of participants.
* Develop and implement Individual Service Plans, assessing progress and adjusting strategies as needed.
* Maintain professional, empathetic relationships with families and agency staff, balancing advocacy with respect and sensitivity.
* Document participants? progress meticulously and manage essential administrative tasks.
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the mission of the program and organization.

SKILLS YOU'LL NEED:

* A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
* A Bachelor?s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
* 1?2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
* Must be able to provide physical assistance including lifting or transferring participants is required.
* Strong understanding of person-centered practices, goal setting, and community integration is preferred.
* Willingness to participate in swimming activities and assist participants in the pool is preferred.
* Familiarity with regional center processes, reports, and compliance is preferred.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills is preferred.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management tools is preferred.
* Valid Driver?s License is preferred.
* Ability to work effectively with people of diverse races, ethnicities and sexual orientations in a multicultural environment is required.
* Must be able to work evenings/weekends as needed.
* Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification and clear background check (LiveScan).
* Successful completion of background (LiveScan) check.
