The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a statistical analyst for the Children in Courts/Civil research team. The selected individual will perform a variety of medium to high-level research functions relating to research study design, data extraction, data analysis, and project management and implementation. The selected candidate will develop and use appropriate and practical methodology to design and manage research projects; perform simple to moderately complex statistical analysis of court data sets utilizing Excel, SPSS, Stata, Focus/WebFocus, SAS, Python,PowerBI/Tableau or other software; manage and clean data in SQL Management Studio or other data management software; and prepare, present and disseminate research findings.Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and five years of professional experience, three (3) years of which should include experience conducting social science research, including multivariate analysis. Experience with administrative, especially court, data would be helpful, as would experience conducting research on child welfare involvement and outcomes. Experience with qualitative methods (e.g., focus groups, interviews, etc.) a plus.
Intermediate to expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required. Intermediate to expert knowledge of SPSS or Stata is strongly preferred. Experience with software such as SAS, SQL, PowerBI/Tableau, or Focus/WebFocus would be helpful. Relevant areas of study/college major: statistics, criminology, criminal justice, public administration, political science, psychology, sociology, public policy, economics or other relevant discipline
Note: Master’s Degree or Doctorate Degree is strongly preferred.
