Description
The full-time Clinical Director position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of New Beginnings Counseling Center’s community clinic—a traineeship program designed for psychology graduate students and post-master’s and doctoral level clinicians to complete their practicum and/or associateship in pursuit of becoming licensed psychotherapists and psychologists. The Clinical Director also oversees the Life Skills Parenting and Education Program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to staffing the counseling center, clinically and administratively supervising the volunteer counselor trainees, associates and post-docs, serving as liaison to volunteer clinical supervisors, evaluating staff and counselor performance, providing weekly training seminars to the counselors, coordinating the agency’s monthly staff and counselor trainings to include selecting in-service presenters and clinical trainers, developing and maintaining local and state-wide graduate school and university partnerships, as well as representing New Beginnings Counseling Center in the community. In addition, the Clinical Director shares responsibility for developing, planning and implementing strategies for program continuation and growth. This position also provides clinical consultation to the Executive Director when necessary. The ideal candidate will be clinically astute with extensive experience in the behavioral health care field with a nurturing demeanor and proven ability to provide a safe space for learning. Must also have the ability to think strategically, solve problems and have good decision-making skills, including critical thinking skills.

The Clinical Director will:

•        Supervise and oversee all aspects of the Counseling Center.
•        Evaluate existing contract compliance, monitoring and reporting to ensure all goals are being met.
•        Project, develop, and monitor revenue streams.
•        Work effectively with staff to maintain efficient and effective protocols and processes.
•        Manage hiring needs, clinical supervision, performance evaluations for volunteer counselors and staff, scheduling, promotion, corrective action of volunteer counselors and staff
•        Develop, plan and implement strategies to manage program growth and ensure self-funding and sustainability of the program
•        Regularly review and recommend changes in program services to meet client needs with particular emphasis on services for underserved populations, oversight of program evaluation and quality assurance functions for clinic including assessment of applicable legal and professional requirements and monitoring treatment plans for clients.
•        Ensure program compliance for grant funding to include accuracy of quarterly reporting.
•        Work with other members of the management team to assure successful communication and coordination between all New Beginnings’ programs, and participate in strategic planning efforts.

Skills
•        Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PsyD or PhD), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California with the required number of years to be a supervisor.
•        Non-profit or for-profit program management experience, including staff supervision, and clinical supervision.
•        Proven experience understanding how to generate revenues for clinical services.

This position is ideally full-time, 32 up to 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday @ 9-6 pm. The agency supports applicants who maintain a private practice, teach, or pursue other outside professional interests that compliment this position. There will be some occasional night-time and/or weekend hours to attend to clinical crises and/or attend community events, and/or to manage any emergent issues.
