Description
The Community Activities Manager at Their Place will oversee and manage an educational and recreational programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities that are designed to promote self-advocacy and build ambassadors/community advocates in the greater community. Our program is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to become impactful community leaders. We implement interactive activities such as group discussions, self-advocacy skills and promoting personal development and empowerment.
· Responsible for the overall daily operations of the Saturday Recreation program, Leadership academy and Beyond the Bell, including staff supervision.
· Acts as a facilitator to assist people with I/DD gain the information necessary to learn and strengthen their advocacy and leadership skills to become self-directed and manage their supports and services, as well as engage as active citizens with control and choice over their own lives.
· Maintains regular and professional communication with families, other provider group homes, guardianship offices, support coordinators and others involved with the individuals enrolled.
· Conducts a positive on-site program orientation for all new hires.
· Supports and ensures the continuous development of new and existing staff in the quality delivery of services.
· Responsible for creating meaningful monthly program schedules using person centered approaches, sharing these with families and maintaining records of such.

Skills
Associate's Degree required.
· Bachelor’s Degree in related field a plus.
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities.

· Must be 21 years of age or older.

· Must be willing to work flexible hours, including \weekend and/or evening hours.

· Must be able to travel to all Their Place locations as well as community-based locations where services are provided or events/activities are held.

Notes
Minimum of 3-5 years working within a supervisory capacity in a related field.

· Must Possess a valid NJ Drivers License in good standing.

· Demonstrate the ability to make sound decisions and adapt to changing priorities in a flexible work environment.

· Demonstrates effective leadership skills in managing staff and ensuring a high level of delivery of services.
