Do you have a passion for working in the field of children’s behavioral health? Are you extremely well organized and detail-oriented? Do you want to be part of the system that ensures the timely delivery of services and supports to children, youth, and families? The Utilization Review Analyst (URA) position will allow you the opportunity to provide access to interventions for individuals ages 0-18 and their families in Fairfax County.

The URA (Behavioral Health Senior Clinician) provides utilization reviews and authorizations of CSA-funded services for youth in need of intensive behavioral health services and supports and ensures that treatment services are therapeutically and financially appropriate. This is accomplished through the utilization review process by collecting and analyzing case specific documentation and program data to provide comprehensive monitoring and independent evaluation of the effectiveness of purchased treatment services. The URA position requires a highly organized, resourceful, and self-motivated team player with behavioral health care expertise who can partner well with members of the community and other human service agency professionals, manage competing priorities and deadlines, and thoughtfully balance policy and procedure with ensuring clinically appropriate service treatment planning and implementation to children, youth, and families.

Responsibilities include:
Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships through a Systems of Care framework.
Maintains effective working relationships with a wide range of community agency professionals including school personnel, family serving public agencies, juvenile court services, and private providers of behavioral health care, child welfare and special education services. Completes reports and maintain all clinical records and documentation according to federal state and agency policies and procedures and assure compliance with state standards. Provides written UR reports according to the Fairfax-Falls Church CSA utilization management plan. Ensures that state requirements and CSA eligibility criteria are met for documentation prior to approval of services. Monitors and evaluates treatment plans and progress of treatment goals to ensure that youth are benefiting in a timely and efficient way from the treatment. Collects data elements about provider performance and supports evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of purchases services. Helps to identify and quantify service gaps. Assists in creating a standardized, streamlined, integrated approach to service delivery. Additionally, the position requires knowledge of CSA, ethical decision-making, attention-to-details, sound clinical assessment skills, familiarity with evidence-based practices, utilization review standards within a behavioral health environment, and awareness of community resources.

Skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college with a master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or nursing; plus two years of clinical experience.
