Salary: $41,000 to $45,000Overall Responsibilities:
The Intake and Engagement Specialist will conduct outreach, facilitate info sessions, screen, and enroll individuals into the Workforce Development training programs. The Intake and Engagement Specialist will provide guidance to clients accepted into the Employment Training Program from intake to training and help them transition to job search and employment and provide retention services to clients. The Case Manager will also be responsible for the coordination with referral sources, the NYC Human Resource Administration, and other providers to document client eligibility and progress in city and internal systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Coordinator of Workforce Development, duties include, but are not limited to:
Recruitment and Intake
Assist in recruiting candidates for Workforce Development training programs.
Attend community outreach events as needed or scheduled to recruit clients for the training programs.
Conduct info sessions, schedule interviews and intakes for applicants and complete enrollment paperwork.
Document, maintain and upload all required documents for all candidates interviewed for the program in a timely manner.
Meet with clients individually to assess current skills and barriers to develop a career plan.
Case Management
Manage a caseload of enrolled clients and assist participants in addressing challenges that may impede them from attending and/or completing the training program.
Implement service plans for participants accepted to program based on their needs.
Coordinate and collaborate with the Job Development to assist clients in preparing and securing employment.
Coordinate with the Training Team to ensure clients submit the required documentation to enroll in the training programs.
Coordinate with various government agencies to determine and track clients eligibility in specific contracts, such as Human Resources Administration (HRA).
Document participants progress in Salesforce and other systems required by funding sources.
Maintain weekly and bi-weekly contact with clients while enrolled in training.
Prepare clients for employment through individualized activities including resume and cover letter development, assistance with job applications, and resource referrals.
Collaborate with the Training Team to facilitate workshops, as needed, to support clients in successful participation and completion of the training program.
Qualifications:
B.A. degree preferred
At least 2 to 3 years case management, counseling, or workforce development experience
Excellent facilitation, presentation and communication skills with the ability to inspire and engage adult learners
Prior experience working with vulnerable populations, including individuals who have histories of homelessness, justice involvement, substance use, and serious mental illness.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Knowledge of virtual platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Slack, Google Classroom, etc.…)
