SALARY: $21.00 - $29.00 per hour

The Staten Island YMCA – Counseling Service is seeking a Counselor who, under the supervision of the Program Director, will be responsible for providing care to a designated caseload, including provision of direct individual, group and family sessions, coordination of specialized program services and case management of caseload.

Key Responsibilities:
-Conduct screenings, assessments, determine appropriate level of care, treatment planning, and discharge planning.
-Membership: Facilitation of sessions including group, individual, family, crisis intervention, and referrals.
-Fiscal Management: attendance management, census administration, retention of cases, family support, fee collection, and outreach presentations.
-Coordination of care for designated caseload: completing ongoing reporting, outreach, referrals, dialogue with professionals working with caseload.
-Conduct urine drug screens.
-Maintain superior Quality Assurance & Program Quality: contract and regulation compliance, fulfilling clinical standards and best practices.
-All related documentation.
-Professional development: Participation in team meetings, individual and group supervision.
-In absence of colleagues, will serve as MOD.
-When appropriate, serves as task supervisor to interns/volunteers.
-In the absence of colleagues, will serve as alternate clinician for clients.
-If requested by the Executive Director, will provide guidance to the staff in the absence of an on-site supervisor. Also, may be required to manage off-hours emergency cell phone on a time-limited rotating basis.

Desired Skills & Experience:
-Meet OASAS requirement for Provisional QHP Status required. Meet OASAS requirement for CASAC, CASAC Level 2 or QHP (Other Than CASAC) preferred.
-Minimum two (2) years of treatment experience.
-Knowledge of the criminal justice system, treatment court, and TASC.
-Knowledge of 12-step model, motivational interviewing, and trauma informed care.
-Bilingual preferred.
