Description
This role requires bi-lingual skills in English and Spanish.

The Resident Services Coordinator is responsible for cultivating, growing and managing the Resident Services Program with one of CDLI’s affordable housing partners onsite at the Moxey Rigby Apartments in Freeport, Nassau County. Within this rental community, the Coordinator will work directly with residents; coordinate with property management and community partners to enhance effective, comprehensive service provision.

The Resident Services Coordinator will also provide administrative, programmatic, and service delivery support to CDCLI’s Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program. FSS is a structured, long-term HUD case management program through which staff conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized service plans in partnership with participants, and link them to community-based resources to help them achieve their goals.

Additionally, on a time-limited basis, the Resident Services Coordinator will support CDCLI’s Community Building & Engagement (CB&E) initiative within two affordable rental communities in Suffolk County to develop, sponsor, support, and/or promote and facilitate resident-driven socialization & social cohesion building, mutual aid, and trauma-informed emotional self-regulation groups.

A combination of traditional and non-traditional work hours are a part of this role.

Responsibilities

-Build and manage a caseload of FSS program case management participants primarily comprised of Moxey Rigby residents.
-Conduct comprehensive assessments of FSS participant needs and strengths.
-Implement individualized case management service plans with FSS participants to achieve anticipated measurable results.
-Monitor and evaluate FSS participant progress towards their goals through regular client contacts.
Aid in preparing and producing the quarterly FSS Newsletter.
-Conduct informational meetings for prospective resident services participants, and respond to inquiries from new and potential clients.
-Build partnerships with local service providers, residents, and Property staff to coordinate and facilitate workshops, activities, and events that enhance resident economic self-sufficiency, empowerment, and wellbeing.
-Assist “drop-in” residents as-needed through individual consultation and resource linkage when working onsite at the Moxey Rigby apartments for 10.5 hours per week.
-Through September 2024, facilitate one (1) emotional self-regulation skills building group activity for residents onsite at Wincoram Commons and Wyandanch Village.
Curate updated referral resources for community-based supportive services.
-Input client-level and programmatic data into databases.
-Maintain documentation of all programmatic activities, milestones and results.
-Other duties as-needed.

Skills
Bi-lingual in English & Spanish required
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in community organizing, civic engagement and/or a human services environment.
Strong organization, verbal and written communication, project management and interpersonal skills.
Experience working in diverse and/or underserved communities, and in culturally attuned, trauma-informed service provision.

Candidate is willing and able to complete certification and other training as required by oversight entities in their prescribed timeframe, which is generally within 6 months of starting on the job.
