Description
1. Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments of clients with special needs to identify underlying mental health concerns and create personalized treatment plans.
2. Specialized Therapy: Provide individual, couple, and family therapy sessions using specialized techniques tailored to the unique needs and communication styles of individuals with special needs.
3. Collaborative Approach: Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including behavior analysts, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to develop integrated treatment plans addressing both mental health and developmental needs.
4. Family Involvement: Involve families and caregivers in the therapy process, providing support, education, and resources to enhance the overall well-being of the client.
5. Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and evaluate clients' progress, adjusting therapeutic interventions as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
6. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards and confidentiality protocols; Complete progress notes recording clinical activity in electronic health record within 24 hours of the date of the session in time frame set forth by Medicaid, Medicare and all health insurances; Prepare treatment related letters or written reports as occasionally needed.
7. Advocacy: Advocate for clients' needs within the community, promoting understanding and acceptance of individuals with special needs and mental health challenges.
8. Continued Education: Stay informed about the latest research, therapies, and interventions related to individuals with special needs and mental health issues, integrating this knowledge into your practice.

This is an independent contractor position located in New York.
This position will provide “IN PERSON” services to the following areas: Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. “TRAVEL IS REQUIRED”
