Description
NY Council on Adoptable Children, "COAC", is a non-profit agency located in midtown Manhattan whose vision is to ensure that every child has a permanent, loving, and nurturing home and family. We provide free in-home services to diverse families located throughout New York City.

COAC is currently looking for a Bilingual Family Counselor for our Permanency Resource Center program to operate out of our main office with extensive fieldwork throughout NYC. Hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities for Family Coordinator:
·provides all home, video, field and office-based case management services to post adoption and post guardianship families.

· conducts intakes, service plan development, and (re)assessment activities as well as coordinating with other service providers, providing referrals, advocacy, and support to ensure family needs are met.

· host support groups/events monthly to help support post-adoptive families.

· engages in ongoing outreach and recruitment activities including presentations and attending networking events to inform service providers about program services.

· maintains progress notes, case records, and tracking logs as well as assists Program Director with completing quarterly reports to inform funders of program progress.

Skills
Qualifications Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or similar social service field
· Bilingual English/Spanish
· Minimum of one year of experience in direct service work
· Experience with ACS, foster care, and/or working with families who have adopted/kingap a strong plus
· Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal/written), and organizational skills
· Ability to work independently to meet client needs and within a team to meet overall needs of the agency
