Interface Children & Family Services (Interface) is Ventura County’s leading nonprofit social services agency, providing free, proven, and responsive services to address the complex physical and emotional needs of 59,000 regional clients every year. Its 30 programs utilize scores of evidence-based practices to serve children, teens, adults, and families who are typically low-income and struggling with poverty, domestic violence, human trafficking, homelessness, incarceration, child abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Interface also connects nearly 300,000 clients per year to a vast network of health and human services across 40 counties through its nationally acclaimed 211 Information & Assistance program. Located in Camarillo, Interface is situated in the beautiful Central Coast region of California, encompassing the contiguous coastal counties of Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo. Interface has an annual operating budget of $15.8 million (fiscal year 2023) and approximately 225 full-time staff.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) provides executive-level leadership and strategic direction for the financial and administrative affairs of the agency and is responsible for directing and managing the fiscal department in support of all agency programs. A valued member of the Officers Team, the CFO serves as a key advisor to the organization’s leadership and Board of Directors on major financial business issues and decisions. The CFO staffs the Admin/Finance Committee of the Board and manages a team of eight staff.

Competitive candidates will have a track record of proven financial leadership experience gained through increasingly responsible positions overseeing fiscal operations, including accounting, budgeting, controls, preparation of financial reports, and monitoring of cash flow with an emphasis on contract compliance and business development. Prior experience working with governmental agencies on contract management and administration is highly desirable. The CFO will ideally have experience in a complex social services organization with diverse program areas and multiple funding sources, as well as disparate contracting arrangements with a wide variety of governmental agencies.

A CPA, MBA or related advanced degree is preferred. The annual salary range for this position is $200,000 to $225,000 plus benefits. This is a full-time exempt position with the expectation of daily in-person work.
