Description
As a Mental Health Specialist with our Family & Children’s Outpatient program, you will provide youth, young adults, and families with behavioral health services to improve client’s emotional wellbeing and life domain functioning. Services provided may include individual and group rehabilitation counseling, skill development, assessment and treatment planning under the supervision of a licensed therapist.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide mental health intake & assessment, counseling and treatment planning to youth, families, young adults and adults, in-home, on-site, and via telehealth
• Assist youth and families in skills-building to improve life domain functioning and developing appropriate parenting skills as well as educational and vocational plans
• Provide youth and families with linkage and connection to supportive community resources
• Facilitate or co-facilitate skills-building groups for youth and young adults.
• Must meet agency & County of Santa Clara mental health standards & deadlines for all documentation, statistics & reporting.
• Must be able to efficiently travel for community-based appointments & in some cases provide clients with transportation as needed utilizing Covid-safe precautions
• Attend meetings and trainings as required
• Participate in Quality Improvement & Safety activities & initiatives including audits
• Regular attendance is a requirement of the position.
• Other duties as assigned.


Skills
Bachelor's degree (B.A. B.S.) in Behavioral Science Knowledge of needs of runaway, homeless and street youth and experience working with culturally diverse youth and families required. Knowledge of SCC Mental Health systems & documentation procedures. Valid CA drivers license with access to a personal vehicle with current Ins. Fingerprinting, TB test & CPR/First Aid required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) Required
