Description
The Program Director will develop, manage, and evaluate in-school and afterschool program activities
which combines and enhances college ad career readiness, youth development, mentoring and social-emotional learning. The Program Director will manage the Education portfolio for the New York Urban League. Key responsibilities include monitoring the development and expansion of education programs, including but not limited to: Compass High, Project Ready, HBCU Fair, Whitney M. Young, Jr. Scholarship Program, and Empowerment Days. Ability to be creative, proactive, youth centered and resourceful in supporting up to 5000 youth annually with the education program portfolio.

The Program Director will be responsible for the overall program management and will work directly with
the education team and the high school’s leadership to ensure alignment, collaboration, and impact.
In partnership with the school and program staff, the Program Director will: manage relationships with schools and community partners, manage the education budget, plan, and execute the successful operation of all program initiatives.

Responsibilities Include:
•        Support the day-to-day operations of the programs within the Employment portfolio.
•        Recruit, hire, supervise, and support staff to ensure all programs are meeting the goals, objectives, milestones and operating at a high level of performance and accountability.
•        Engage various community partners to support the in-school and afterschool program components which will include securing speakers, facilitating workshops, arranging activities, trips, experiences, etc.
•         Accurately document all services as required by program and agency procedures; Identifies, develops and maintains client data for tracking member progress, program objectives and outcomes, and contractual requirements.
•        Provide innovative program development and operational ideas and solutions for current and future contracts/grants.
•        Manage program budgets and provide support in securing additional funding to sustain and expand the program portfolio.
•        Submit monthly and annual impact reports reflective of programmatic goals, services and milestone completion.
•        Participate in professional development through individual and group supervision, attendance at conferences, workshops, seminars, and/or webinars.
•        Support program and agency wide initiatives.
•        Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
•        Masters’ degree in social work, education, counseling or related field with at least two years of supervisory experience or Bachelors’ degree in nonprofit, education, or related field with at least three years of supervisory experience.
•        Excellent organizational, leadership, time management and emotional intelligence, with the proven ability to build, motivate and coach effective leaders and teams.

Skills
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, develop goals, prioritize workload, and effectively support partnerships and utilize community resources.
•        Have a demonstrated track record of effective problem-solving and decision-making.
•        Maintain a relentless pursuit of results and very high standards for performance and accountability of themselves and subordinates.
•        Strong analytical and communication skills (written and verbal).
