The Behavioral Specialist of the Enhanced Foster Care team (ETFC)  assists in providing non-professional auxiliary services for children and families under the discretion of the Case Work Supervisor.

The Behavioral Specialist provides support to ETFC Clinical Case Manager and foster care team in implementing treatment plans, goals and behavioral interventions as established by the ETFC treatment team for ETFC Parents, ETFC youth and their families. This position is hybrid and has the flexibility to work from home and office. 

Do you meet the following qualifications below?

Possess either a Master’s Degree in a human services field or a Bachelor’s Degree (B.A., B.S., or a B.S.W.) in a human services field with two years’ experience working with children and families OR a Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in alternate field with a minimum of 30 credit hours in the human services field with two years’ experience working with children and families. 

Job Summary
Assists in providing non-professional auxiliary services for children and families under the discretion of the Case Work Supervisor. Provides support to EFC Clinical Case Manager and foster care team in implementing treatment plans, goals and behavioral interventions as established by the EFC treatment team for EFC Parents, EFC youth and their families.

Duties and Responsibilities
Assume responsibility for all cases on assigned caseloads in accordance with caseload ratios as outlined in the EFC contract. 

Have the capacity to implement treatment plans, goals and behavioral interventions as established by the ETFC treatment team.

Have a valid State of Michigan driver’s license and have a reliable insured vehicle available to provide transportation to the child/family as necessary to participate in services implemented by the ETFC team.

Have a flexible work schedule that allows for the
provision of ETFC behavioral support services during non-typical business hours
Provide transportation for EFC children and parents as needed to and from medical appointments, community resources and other social activities as defined by the individual child’s treatment plan.
Observe, interact and document all visits and phone calls with the child, EFC Parents, the child’s family and other service providers according to policy.
Support all contract foster care service requirements. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring child contact, birth parent/family planning contact, foster parent contact, sibling contact and parenting time requirements are met as outlined in the EFC Contract.
Report observation and provide documentation to case responsible EFC Case Manager of meetings and contacts with the child and EFC parents.
Participate in treatment team meetings as scheduled.
Participate in at least monthly meetings with the EFC supervisor and team. 

 Job Qualifications
Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

Master’s degree in a human services field or a Bachelor’s Degree (B.A., B.S., or a B.S.W) in a human services field with two years’ experience working with children and families in foster placement, with experience in assessment and development of services plans.
