Description

REMOTE WORK: YES, with residency in Massachusetts preferred.

SALARY: $85,000 - $90,000/Annually

OVERVIEW

The PRS Supervisor for Post Release Services is responsible for all aspects of supervising a team of caseworkers providing culturally and linguistically appropriate case management to unaccompanied children (UC) in Applied Intellect’s PRS program.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and supervise a team of level 1 and 2 caseworkers providing case management services to UC and their sponsors.

  • Direct and coordinate level 1 and 2 PRS services to UC.

  • Conduct individual and group supervision with staff on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

  • Review, edit and approve home visit reports and other required documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with Applied Intellect and ORR requirements and policies governing the provision of services and maintain a high standard of quality.

  • Identify staff learning needs, coordinate and conduct training and onboarding of new staff.

  • Provide ongoing leadership, direction, development, coaching, counseling, oversight, clinical guidance, and support to staff to ensure child welfare principles and social work best practices are central components of PRS.

  • Identify partnership opportunities and conduct strategic outreach to local service providers to raise awareness and enhance existing support networks to children and families;

  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with key stakeholders.

  • Must be available for on-call for the designated region and other regions as needed.  

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • A Master of Social Work or an equivalent advanced degree in a behavioral science (e.g., education, psychology, sociology) or social services field, with at least two years’ progressive employment experience that demonstrates supervisory and case management experience is preferred, or; 
  • A bachelor’s degree in the fields above with a minimum of three years’ progressive employment experience that demonstrates supervisory and case management experience may be considered. 
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with case management, home placements, and child welfare. 
  • Excellent judgment and leadership ability; must be able to make independent decisions which ensure that outstanding services are being provided within necessary timeframes, and that the team and team members are complying with all required policies and procedures.  
  • Progressive experience in social services with supervisory experience required. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, insurance, and a clean driving record. 
  • Ability to prioritize duties independently, think strategically, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to work well independently and to lead a team. 
  • The position is remote, and the candidate must have an appropriate workspace to complete documentation, client phone calls, and video conferencing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including using Excel and Teams for maintaining regular contact with supervisor.
  • Ability to type and be computer literate. Comfortable with using a tablet/iPad, or laptop to complete daily assignments is required.
  • Fluency in Spanish required.  
  • Ability for occasional travel. 
  • Candidate must demonstrate a commitment to comply with mandatory state reporting requirements for child abuse and neglect.  
  • Candidate must pass a criminal background check that includes history of conviction of child and sexual abuse.  
  • Possess or be able to obtain CPR and basic first aid certification; and 
  • Demonstrated support of Applied Intellect’s values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Satisfactory completion of Applied Intellect’s Orientation and Training;

  • Satisfactory completion of ORR required trainings prior to serving clients and; and

  • Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity;

  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands;

  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying; and

  • Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
