Program Description:
The Recover Center is a Part-822 OASAS Licensed Treatment Program. The program offers a treatment protocol that supports the ongoing treatment of people with substance use disorders, through person-centered, trauma informed, recovery-oriented recreation and with modalities such as individual/group therapy sessions. The program offers medical, psychiatric, peers, certified counseling and occupational therapy services.
Overall Responsibilities:
The Intake Coordinator position requires a mature individual with experience and comfort working with homeless adults who present substance use and psychiatric problems. The position reports The Recovery Center Program Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential duties of the Intake Coordinator include but are not limited to the following activities:
- Completion of intake documentation for all clients referred to clinic for treatment
- Completion of substance use assessment for all clients;
- Appropriate Referrals based on assessment (Detoxification, Rehab, Psychiatric services etc.) Referrals to Medical clinic for physical examinations/medical clearances;
- Recommendations and Disposition to the Outpatient Department
- Documentation of all client assessments in compliance with OASAS requirements and standards.
- Attend and participate in all staff and team meetings, and in-service training; case consultation with interdisciplinary staff.
- Attendance and participation in weekly supervision with clinical coordinator and/or program director.
- Completion of intake assessment reports to NYC HRA STARS; completion of OASAS PAS-Admission/substance use assessments; development of treatment plans for assigned caseload.
- Provide individual counseling to 15-20 clients per week; case management as needed.
- Facilitation of treatment groups (e.g. substance use education groups, recurrence prevention groups, anger management groups, and/or life skills groups).
- Documentation of all client contact in compliance with OASAS regulations. Documentation completed in a timely fashion.
- Completion of caseload reports to NYC HRA STARS system and NYS Department of Probation programs; completion of OASAS PAS Admission and Discharge forms.
Qualifications:
- High School Degree or GED. Three (3) years uninterrupted sobriety is required for candidates who are themselves in recovery.
- New York State Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Use certificate (CASAC) preferred. If a CASAC candidate must be able to provide a CASAC license number.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience providing direct care to individuals with alcohol and substance dependence; experience with homeless and forensic adults a plus; Good writing skills, Computer Literacy: able to work with Microsoft Word and Excel programs; familiarity with OASAS documentation requirements.
All newly hired Project Renewal staff must provide verification of being fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
