The Parallax Center, Inc. offers a unique treatment for substance abuse. Using a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach, Parallax generates higher than average success rates in patient outcomes for both detoxification and relapse prevention. Parallax is licensed by New York State to provide outpatient continued care chemical dependence treatment services and medically-supervised withdrawal services. Parallax integrates medical and psychiatric pharmacotherapies with psychosocial, cognitive/behavioral and motivational approaches to addiction treatment. This collaborative process allows our clinicians to treat chemical dependency as well as any psychiatric or medical needs of the patient. Treatment plans typically consist of medical and psychiatric supervised, ambulatory withdrawal services, followed by continuing medical and psychiatric stabilization, intensive group therapy, involvement with a master level clinician for individual, couple and family therapy. Participation in community-based self-help support programs and sponsorship are also strongly encouraged. By addressing all aspects of patient issues, patient compliance is increased and relapse rates are reduced. Parallax Center’s treatment philosophy focuses on "biological recovery," which includes stabilizing brain chemistry and decreasing drug cravings following detox or abstinence.
