Specific Education, Certification and Skill Requirements (if applicable): A bachelor's degree is preferred, with experience in special education, child development, mental health, substance abuse, or related field. Must be skilled in writing to document services.
Job Description: Crossroads is in need of therapeutic mentors to work with youth from the ages of 5 to 22 years old with a wide range of social/emotional/psychiatric/developmental challenges. All work is done in the client's natural environment (home, community, school), and goals, while individualized, often include the development of social skills, life skills, interpersonal skills, and increasing self esteem. Work is offered on a per case basis, and requests range from 3 hours a week for 12 weeks, to 15 hours a week for several years. We cannot guarantee a steady number of hours of work. It is dependent on what referrals come to us
Other Information About This Job: We are particularly interested in finding mentors to match with adolescent boys, African American clients, and Hispanic clients.
