Specific Education, Certification and Skill Requirements (if applicable): Bachelors degree required, Psychology, Social Work,or related field preferred One year experience in a Child Care agency preferred. Clean NYS driver’s license and own personal car required to transport residents to court and other appointments.
Job Description: Under the careful training and supervision of the Assistant Director of Social Services, provides direct casework services to children and their families as a member of an Independent Living team. Performs all activities and administrative tasks associated with handling a caseload in keeping with all ACS regulations. Chairs Treatment Team Meetings. Work directly with School Officials performing Guidance Counseling duties, networking and using referral base of community resources, attend Permanency and Criminal Court hearings, work closely with families and/or community resources to promote and ensure reunification, write permanency hearing reports, Social Service Summaries, Guidance Reports. Knowledge of Connections a plus. Enter all casework contacts as Progress Notes. Conduct monthly home visits. Ability to work with ACS, OCFS, and other industry officials with Family Team Conference model. Field work requires driving residents in your own automobile. Occasional evening hours are required for Family Team Conferences. Other duties as assigned.
