Specific Education, Certification and Skill Requirements (if applicable): • Required licensure (LGSW-DC & MD) • 4-5 years of experience with adoption services • Mastery of basic functions of Microsoft Word and Access required; knowledge of other Microsoft applications desirable.
Job Description: Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide social work and other support services to families and children; • Conduct home studies as assigned; • Manage contract workers for the purpose of conducting home studies when needed; • Maintain up to date client records and other documentation as indicated by applicable state laws; • Provide professional counseling for children and youth and the families as needed; • Use knowledge of service network to make appropriate and timely referrals for services as needed by children and their families; • Court report preparation, provide court testimony, attend case conferences, present case material for administrative reviews; • Conduct adoption searches; • Participate in individual and group supervision, staff meetings, professional consultation, training and other conferences are required for professional growth. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Knowledge of laws and regulations of domestic and international Adoption (Federal and local). • Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds. • Excellent communication skill (oral and written). • Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm for working collaboratively. • Licensed to drive with no more than three moving violations within a year. • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision. • Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
Other Information About This Job: Hours requirment: 20 per week 5 days a week. However position is flexible with Schedule
