Specific Education, Certification and Skill Requirements (if applicable): BA in Social Work or related field, two yrs of experice with an early childhood program or related field. Experience working with low-income/urban population. Bilingual: Spanish/English
Job Description: The fuction of the Family Worker is to assist in the provision of services to children and/or families both in the home and group settings.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain and safeguard the rights of each family/child to privacy, respect & confidentiality. Prepare room prior to group sessions and clean up after group sessions for in-training sessions. Distribute, receive & request medical,educational, and therapeutic information & reports as directed. Maintain attendace log. Assist with the evaluation of each child. Provide professional assistance to the Site Director, the school and community, by keeping informed about changing needs and concerns within the school's areas of family development & community service responsibility. Serve as a resource person to the families&staff. Insure compliance with PRAB school policy. Promote communication with parents. Assist teachers in conducting parent-teacher conference and if necessary, help with translating. Encourage parents to participate in the program. Plan, prepare & conduct Parent Teacher Organization(PTO) meetings. Follow all rules, practices & procedures set forth by PRAB. Perfomed other duties as assigned.
