Nestled between the Elkhorn and Eagle Cap Mountains and the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest of Northeast Oregon, New Directions Northwest, Inc. is a non-profit Alcohol and Drug service provider. The position of Clinical Supervisor is being sought for the Powder River Alternative Incarceration Program for which we contract with the Department of Corrections. The Clinical Supervisor will supervise up to 10 A&D counselors; will mentor, coach, inspire and motivate; will build teams, provide structure, create cohesion and resolve conflict; will build mutual understanding of the goals, tasks and bond with supervisees; will use critical thinking to make sound decisions and solve problems; will help supervisees hone critical thinking skills; will train, supervise and mentor assigned staff to see their performance is meeting necessary standards, and that counselors are familiar with and adhering to Agency and Department of Corrections policies; will implement new skill building strategies through documentation of assigned curricula using cognitive behavioral and social learning methods; prepare performance evaluation on assigned staff upon reaching the three month introductory period and annually thereafter; and will assist the clinical team in over-all program development. There may be other duties as assigned within the general nature of the work described above.Baker City is known for its bucolic setting and the many outdoor activities. Crossroads Art Center, located in the newly refurbished Carnegie Library, offers a variety of art classes including pottery, woodworking, painting and photography; as well as instruction in performance arts such as ballet, ballroom dancing, belly dancing and Greek folk dance.
