We are growing! Come join our team. A well-established non-profit is seeking a Wellness Specialist/Young Adult Assistant Director to work at E. 144th Street, our brand new residential apartment building for adults with mental illness located in the Bronx, New York. This position will report to the Program Director. You will be responsible for the provision of Young Adult wellness and transition services.


• Ensures delivery of program services according to agency policies and procedures.

• Ensures compliance with NYS OMH standards.

• Assists with recruitment, hiring, and supervision of Young Adult staff.

• Assures initial and continuing staff training, develops and oversees staffing schedule.

• Assists with admission and discharge of clients.

• Assists with coordinating/delivering safety and health programs to clients and staff.

• Promotes best practices in positive young adult development, including peer to peer support.

• Implements Well ness Self-Management Program.

• Co-facilitates a substance use recovery group with a Peer and serves as an Integrated Dual Diagnosis resource to other   program staff.

• Conducts Life Skills Assessments and develops Wellness Plans with all participants

• Obtains psychosocial histories.

• Provides individual wellness counseling.

• Conducts risk assessments for all participants and develops Individual Prevention Plans.

• Liaisons with treatment providers for purposes of case management/care coordination.

• Convenes and facilitates Young Adult Leadership Association.

• Reviews and schedules case reviews, wellness plans, wellness plan reviews.

• Reviews charting to ensure compliance with NYSOMH documentation requirements.

• Establishes and maintains liaison with primary provider of psychiatric care.

• Assures access to psychiatric, substance use and medical services, and entitlement benefits.

• Monitors, documents and teaches client self-administration of medication, according to program policy and procedures.

• Assists in coordinating client activities, developing community resources, liaison with collateral providers.

• Member of the Case Record Review Committee.

• Serves as a "Qualified Mental Health Staff Person".

• Recommends measures to evaluate and improve the quality of program services.

• On-call to coordinate crisis management.

• Duties as assigned by supervisor.

Masters degree in the field of psychology or a related field. Supervisory and young adult experience. I DDT credentials or experience required.
