Description
The Institute of Professional Practice(IPPI) is seeking positive, energetic, patient and committed Direct Support Professionals(DSP) for both our day and residential program. Day and evening hours are available. DSP’s have the primary responsibility of meeting the needs of the individuals with developmental disabilities by providing support, guidance and supervision. You will be teaching and assisting individuals with daily living skills including health and personal care, achieving personal goals, recreation, and actively engaging them in meaningful activities. DSP’s also accompany individuals on a variety of community based activities and ensure that they are afforded the opportunity to meet and socialize with other people. Other responsibilities include keeping required records, writing progress notes, entering data into an electronic record system and other tasks as required.

Skills
Skills and requirements include basic computer skills, ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing; valid Massachusetts driver’s license; ability to implement physical intervention techniques with adults; clean driving record; satisfactory CORI. Requirements   Must be or become CPR, First Aid and MAP certified within agency specified time frame.
