Good Shepherd Services, a leading NYC non-profit committed to the success of young people and families, is currently seeking a Bilingual/Spanish Social Worker, for our Marian Hall Program in Manhattan.
The Social Worker provides all case management and therapeutic services for youth and their families in a residential environment. Focus of work is to insure PERMANENCY, SAFETY AND WELL-BEING. Social Service delivery is to be consistent with the philosophy of Good Shepherd Services, the function and task of the programs and in compliance with City and State mandates.
•Master's degree in Social Work and licensure eligible (LMSW) required (license within 6 months of hire).
•Bilingual/Spanish required. English a must.
•Clinical work with youth and families required; including crisis management.
•Proven participant sensibility and the ability to communicate with staff on all levels.
•Demonstrated competence in verbal, written, organizational, and prioritization skills.
•Capability to transition easily between working independently with a high degree of self-initiative and contributing as part of a team.
•Must be able to use public transportation systems, including subways and buses to attend various meetings and make home visits.
•Excellent crisis intervention, advocacy and problem solving skills.
•Must have knowledge of Connections and Microsoft Word.
•Must have ability to work flexible schedule including some evenings, weekends and holidays.
•Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based, youth development perspective and trauma-informed perspective.
