Housing and Services, Inc. is a 25 year old not-for-profit developer and manager of special needs housing in NYC. Our mission is to end the cycle of homelessness permanently by providing safe, nurturing, and empowering environments with comprehensive services that are designed to reduce crisis and improve health and housing stability outcomes for those most at risk (SPMI’s, MICA, very low-income seniors, the chronically homeless, people living with AIDS, and veterans).
Housing and Services, Inc. is seeking a part-time psychiatrist to provide on-site psychiatric services at two of our permanent supportive housing projects: (1) Kenmore Hall, a 325-unit facility located in Gramercy Park and (2) the Narragansett, a 100 unit facility located in the Upper West Side. The Psychiatrist will perform psychiatric assessments and evaluations, prescribe plans of treatment, perform patient observation, counseling, and medication management. In addition, he/she will participate in monthly group supervision/case reviews with the social service team and provide in-house staff trainings as needed.
•Licensed Psychiatrist in the State of New York.
•Preferred experience working with the formerly homeless or other special need groups.
•Preferred experience with the elderly and chemically addicted.
•Well versed in patient care and diagnosis within field of psychiatry as well as established best practice within the field, able to work effectively with variety of patient mental disabilities and dysfunctions and provide crisis intervention for patients who may require special observation.
•Computer literate required; a strong commitment to our mission and a dedication those we serve paramount.
