Walk With Sally (WWS), a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing mentoring support programs and services to children who have a parent or sibling with cancer. Walk With Sally is seeking a full time (40 hours per week) Program Director for our mentoring and art programs. This position requires a key resource that will be responsible for the overall management of Walk With Sally’s programs, services and project plans. The primary focus is serving the children (and families) coping with a parent’s cancer and/or grief and loss issues through all the Walk With Sally support programs and related services.
Two of the main programs are Mentoring and HeART to Home: An Expressive Arts Program for Children in Bereavement due to Cancer. All of Walk With Sally's programs are free of charge to families. Program Director conducts Mentor trainings, Art Volunteer trainings, holds Mentor support groups, organizes group Friendship Activities, and screens and processes all matches and volunteers.
Program Director also works on partner and community outreach by hosting monthly Welcome Sessions, visiting schools and hospitals, and speaking at community expos and fairs.
Program Director also creates and writes the Bi-Monthly newsletter and stays current on best practices for Mentoring and helping families cope with cancer and loss.
Program Director oversees other programs as well, including Presents for Parents and Molly's Book Corner for Kids.
Grant writing and/or experience in working for a non-profit are helpful.
