Description
Rosemary Children’s Services opened its doors in 1920 to adolescent girls. Since then the agency has grown to provide “at-risk” youth with therapeutic and compassionate services through our Residential Care, Non Public School, Mental Health and Foster Family & Adoptions Programs.

Rosemary Children’s Services has an immediate opening for a Therapeutic Behavioral Specialist for the Mental Health Department. The Mental Health Department provides therapeutic services to the residents in our Residential Care Program, which consists of adolescent girls.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1.Available on-site to provide individualized one-to-one behavioral assistance and interventions to accomplish outcomes specified in the TBS service plan.

2.Effectively conduct and document assessment with clients.

3.Develop short term intervention to address specific behaviors of the client that were identified in the assessment.

4.Assist the clients to engage in, or remain engaged in, appropriate activities.

5.Help minimize the client’s targeted behavior(s) utilizing short-term, measurable goals based on the child’s needs.

6.Help to increase the client’s social and community competencies by building or reinforcing those daily living skills that will assist the youth in living successfully at home and in the community.

7.Provide immediate behavioral reinforcements.

8.Provide time-structuring activities.

9.Provide proactive interventions, not general supervision.

10.Provide cognitive behavioral approaches, such as cognitive restructuring, use of hierarchies and graduated exposure.

11.Documentation of treatment plans and progress reports. Maintain files on each assigned client in a format designed by the program.

12.Ability to document client’s progress based on DMH requirements

13.Make set schedule for each client and have flexible availability to meet the needs of clients.

14.Collaborate with and support for the Residential Department’s efforts to provide a positive environment for the youth.

REQUIREMENTS:
1.A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in the Social Services Field and two years of experience working with at risk youth.

2.Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle; Must maintain a valid California Driver’s License, Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and have at least five (5) years of driving experience.
