Adolescent Mental Health Facility
Star View Adolescent Center (SVAC) is seeking highly qualified and caring Primary Therapist for full-time employment. SVAC is a leader in providing diverse multidisciplinary Mental Health Services to youth who require intensive residential treatment of our adolescent clients in our 56-bed residential facility. This position provides general casework services, psychotherapy and therapeutic groups/activities to assigned residents and their families. The position also coordinates treatment within SVAC and with other agencies such as Child Protective Services, Juvenile Probation Department and County Department of Mental Health. Other activities include interdepartmental consultation.
Education: Master's degree in psychology, social work, child care counseling or development from an accredited college or university is required.
Experience: One (1) year direct service experience with severely emotionally disturbed adolescents in an inpatient or outpatient health care setting (internship and/or practicum time may be substituted).
License: Must have a License.
Specialized Skills: Ability to interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with seriously emotionally disturbed adolescents, other staff, physicians and the public.
